Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage is also known as Part C. You can buy these plans to help pay for costs Original Medicare doesn’t cover. Medicare Advantage plans include all your Part A and Part B benefits along with many extras, like vision, dental and fitness benefits. Most include Part D prescription drug coverage, too.
Medicare Supplement

Also known as “Medigap”, Medicare Supplement plans help pay some of the out-of-pocket costs Original Medicare doesn’t pay, like copays, coinsurance and deductibles. They are portable, so you can take them with you if you move to another state, and they cover you when you travel outside the U.S. Medicare Supplement plans do not include Part D prescription drug coverage.
Original Medicare

Medicare Part A and Part B are often called Original Medicare. Part A is hospital insurance and Part B is medical insurance. Original Medicare covers many services, but it won’t cover all the health care you may need. If you only have Part A and Part B coverage, you’ll pay the full cost for services Original Medicare doesn’t cover.
